wEvaluation of policy by using micro traffic simulationx

¡Study on effect of exclusive road for small vehicle
The feasibility to introduce the Exclusive Over/Under Pass for Small Vehicle is evaluated by using micro traffic simulation gParamicsh. In this year, the effects of two case studies are evaluated. One case is constructing Exclusive over/under pass crossing several intersections and other is installing priority traffic signal control for heavy truck flow.

¡Study on effect of nearside bus stops for bus route operating
The Bus routes service not only along multiple-lane arterials but also along two-lane arterials, approximately, a half of bus routes in Tokyo Metropolitan Area operating along two-lane arterials. Bus routes with signal priority system seem ineffective when operating along two-lane arterial. The one of obvious problem is that the lost of green times at nearside bus stop, i.e. lost of intersection capacity, due to bus stopping at the nearside bus stop during a green time interval. Consequently, bus loses its green time and also this event delays to the following vehicles, which unable to overtake the stopping bus due to no passing zone. Therefore, this study proposed the nearside bus stops for bus route operating and evaluate its effect by using micro traffic simulation model gParamicsh.

¡Study on priority traffic signal control system for emergency vehicle
The effect of introducing the priority traffic signal control system for emergency vehicle is evaluated in this study. Complicated running characteristic of emergency vehicle is revealed by installing on-board data collection equipment. These characteristics are used to develop traffic simulation model. Finally, this study considers the system of traffic control.

wStudy of Probe vehicle systemx

¡Study of Probe vehicle system
Probe vehicle system has been expected to be one of potential effective traffic information collection method to solve the traffic congestion problem. This study evaluate the feasibility to introduce the probe vehicle system by using micro traffic simulation model covering an huge road network. And this study proposed the method to evaluate reliability of travel time estimation by using data collected from probe vehicle and actually evaluated it in the case of Bangkok road network.
